Fyi

I had joined a Facebook page called PSA Baseball Cards Keeping It Real. Someone on there was justifiably critical of an apparently fake Honus Wagner t206 and Eddy Plank tobacco cards that were in PSA slabs. He was then kicked off the page. I made a comment about the trimming of the Gretzky Honus Wagner and I too was kicked off. So I switched to another page called Baseball Cards Keeping It Real to warn people about what was happening on the PSA Facebook page. I was kicked off that one as well.

Waaah! Someone in kindergarten stole my lunch money!

Just forget about it.

Manny Trillo 10-12-2016 07:09 PM

I think it's a larger issue then just me.

Already discussed here as well. Anyone who buys a Wagner or Plank on Facebook is asking to get burned...

I just found it odd that anyone who makes any criticism of PSA is deleted from the pages.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you've had several posts about Facebook. I'm concerned for your health and sanity.

Facebook is the last place I would be buying/selling cards. Let the 15 year olds duke it out over there and stick with ebay.

Manny Trillo 10-12-2016 09:19 PM

I really liked it, because it was easy to read and navigate but I suspect the two pages that I was on have some affiliation with PSA.

I wasn't on there for the selling and trading just for the sharing of information

Nothing wrong with sharing information Chad.

Jeffrompa 10-12-2016 10:33 PM

Sounds like you stepped on the wrong toes Chad . Someone trying to sell those at some point I would guess .

pokerplyr80 10-13-2016 12:40 AM

I find the fact that anyone could think a Facebook page is more organized, easier to navigate, or a better place to share information about baseball cards than net54 very hard to believe. If i hadn't seen you make similar posts before i would assume you have a sense of humor i just dont get. I don't know what else to say except perhaps you should just stay on Facebook until you find a page that won't kick you out.

Jewish-collector 10-13-2016 03:38 AM

Chad - Sometimes you gotta say WTF. :D

jason.1969 10-14-2016 03:52 PM

I doubt there's any actual affiliation with PSA. I suspect smaller-time scammers grabbed the name in an effort to mislead less sophisticated shoppers.

I am just as incredulous that you find this site clear and intuitive.

There is a reason the software we use, Vbulletin, is the largest of its kind. It is because it is easy to read and navigate. If you like FB better, I suggest you go back there and have fun with all of the crap that goes on over there. I was enrolled into a FB group recently, unbeknownst to me, and all of the sudden I got around 20 freaking emails from crap going on over there. I un-enrolled so fast it would make your head spin. What a disaster that place is, at least to me. Whoever likes it should use it and have fun. It's America!

It's not just PSA, break wind in the wrong direction and you'll get booted. I'm on the PSA page, but have heard several stories from friends on the other "keeping it real" sites and the creator is quick to ban over just about any complaint. I don't think they care if the actual cards are "real".

It wouldn't surprise me if this post gets me banned from the page.

Great comment

Leon was certainly the voice of reason on this topic. Chad posted an issue he is engaged in. He should not be chastised and told how "choose description" he is. He is simply sharing his experience. Sorry to rant but damn !!

Guess I'm not seeing the point of coming here and posting about how shabbily you were treated somewhere else. Sort of like going to Burger King for the express purpose of complaining about how bad the last Big Mac was you got down the street.

timfsu2k 10-20-2016 12:53 AM

The guy who runs both of those pages has some issues. He kicks anyone out who doesn't agree with him fully.

As for FB itself, I have found some amazing deals on various sports card groups. It's not for everyone to be sure, but if you approach it with the right attitude you can certainly find it enjoyable.

Huh? someone runs just this thread? Who runs the rest of the forum?

The point is to alert people who may have wondered why they've been kicked off. Seems to me that those who are on one site might be on the other. And it seemed awfully suspicious that I and others have been kicked off for raising legitimate questions about grading.
