OT: Baseball Icon Meets The Three Stooges
1 Attachment(s)
Throughout the years I have seen hundreds of pictures of The 3 Stooges. But this is the first time that I've seen one that had a baseball player with them.
Post your pictures showing ballplayers with famous entertainers from back in the day. In case you haven't figured out who was catching. It was Connie Mack. |

Love that pic Howard!
As a huge Harold Lloyd fan, I have been looking for a good copy of this still from the movie "Speedy" for a while. Not only does it contain Harold as The Babe's cabbie, take a look at that fellow walking by in this blow up. |

The image of Gehrig in the background is the coolest part of that pic. |

Willie Mays & Don Drysdale were on The Donna Reed Show multiple times
Code:
The Donna Reed Show featured several celebrity guest stars appearing as themselves during its eight-year run. Baseball player Don Drysdale appeared in four episodes while Willie Mays appeared in three episodes and Leo Durocher once |

The best appearance for Willie was on Mr. Belvedere when they put together a complete "ringer" team for a birthday with Bob Uecker, Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks, Johnny Bench, Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Reggie Jackson, and Harmon Killebrew. I don't think a group like that has ever been put together for a sitcom event before or after. You can watch the episode online (in amazing bad quality, lol) here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWPD897_NqU |

Thanks for loading up these images, guys.
My love for the 3 Stooges is immense; that photo with Connie Mack was special. Really, all of the responses are terrific. My favorite of those mentioned is the Mr. Ed episode with Leo Durocher, as well as several other Dodgers such as Johnny Roseboro, Sandy Koufax, Willie Davis, and Moose Skowren. That was a scream, especially when Ed slid into home plate! The frightened look on catcher Roseboro was priceless. Perfect timing on that episode too, as it led off the 1963-64 season, airing a few days before Sandy took the mound of Game 1 of the 1963 World Series. Nice memories. ---Brian Powell |
