Here is one POS we don't want in our collection

Where do these things keep coming from?
Another authenticator that I never heard of.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/162189767485?ul_noapp=true

And it has bids,, :confused::confused::eek:
Four bids,, two from an obvious shill with zero feedback.

vintagetoppsguy 09-08-2016 06:05 AM

It was authenticated July 12, 1940 (or that's how I read it). How can you not trust a company that's been in business at least 75+ years and whose Director of Authentication is John Goodman? :D

RichardSimon 09-08-2016 06:56 AM

Wow,,, did not notice July 12. That date is my birthday,, I think that is a sign that I should bid on this beauty. :D;):D;).

I just checked out the authenticator website.
No way to submit an item for authentication, that's a good business practice, but four testimonials from some cute made up names,,, Judy, Ronjo,,etc. "Judy" says they are good, how could you go wrong?
What a crock.

Testimonials:
"I use world wide authentics everytime I buy an autograph online! They have amazing customer service!"
~Judy
"I send in all my autographs to world wide authentics, their experts check them, and send them back in a timely manner. 5/5"
~Ronjo(Ebay Powerseller) (there is a member of ebay with that name, he has been a member for 18 years,, his feedback is zero).
"Great customer service! 10 out of 10, overall great exprience"
~Jerry
"Easy to use website, I love it when sellers have authentication from world wide authentics!"
~Melinda

roarfrom34 09-08-2016 10:59 AM

based on his feedback he seems to have an endless supply of signed Trump one dollar bills

more likely he has an endless supply of black sharpies and one dollar bills

Sophiedog 09-08-2016 11:17 AM

They make the COA's look like JSA's. Pretty amazing people are buying this garbage

Is it really that easy? All that's required is good customer service, sending things back quickly and an easy to use website?

Maybe I need to start a business. I can do most of that and I'm sure some college kid could build me a halfway decent website for a couple six packs.

None of which means I'd get the autographs right..... except that one, I'm pretty sure I can get that one right. :D At least they scuffed up the ball after writing on it.

I don't know how many fly by night authenticators don't put any contact info on their COAs. That is always the first red flag with me.

I dunno man...I have to believe Melinda...it is an easy website. Maybe that's because it's only one page? Unless you authentic the code for the Babe Ruth... :p

From people like chris and Richard and others, I have learned that the issue is so widespread that the public is just as moronic and idiotic at times.

Lets face it, some forgeries are AT LEAST CLOSE. the Ruth is so pathetically bad, as are the Boobamas and others, its ridiculous. If LEGIT people are bidding on these, then they need help and to be able to comprehend common sense. RIDICULOUS
