Any Presidential Autograph Experts on the Board?
4 Attachment(s)
Here's another one guys (sorry!). This item was purchased directly from Milt Pappas by a friend of my dad. Is there any way this is an actual hand signed George Bush autograph? It looks printed but the personalization throws me off. Milt insisted it was real because he was a personal friend of Bush. I am trying to sell it for him now and want to be sure of it's authenticity before starting.
ANY info good or bad would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tony |
Tony,
IMO, the George Bush is a printed sig, however, the personalization looks good. |
Greg, thanks for the input. Let me ask you this, who signed the inscription then? It looks like the same handwriting to me so is it a secretary type thing? Why inscribe the text by hand and then print the sig? Just asking and trying to learn on the fly! I don't know how the autopen machine works.

Typically printed signatures are on standard, mass-produced photos sent to donors, etc. It seems unlikely to have a printed signature on a one-of-a-kind photo. Secondly, the signature is placed in a spot that only makes sense if there is a dedication. Lastly, the ink of the dedication appears to exactly match the color of the signature. Another factor that weighs in favor of the signature being live ink.
You can't tell for sure unless examined in hand, but I'd be surprised if the signature was printed. |
That's legit IMHO

Looks good to me. Extra cool that it came from milt papas too! You do have to be careful with these being auto penned (like others have said) but this one looks like the real deal and I agree with the posts above regarding the location of the signature.

Thanks guys. I've moved it on to a friend who will really enjoy it. Glad something panned out good for a change!
