1933 Goudey question
1 Attachment(s)
Can someone tell me what I got here. Is it a printing error, or was it common for 1933 Goudeys to bleed through like this one? What extra value would this card have for being this way?
|
That is what's called a "wet-ink transfer". After being printed, the sheets were stacked, whereupon the still wet ink from the front of one card, would transfer to the back of the card laying on top of it. It is common with Goudeys.
No extra value is attached to cards with the ink transfer. Steve |
Thanks for the help.

I have seen this almost exclusively on the cards that have a deep red background.
