1959 Topps Baseball Thrills As I was thumbing through some 1959 Topps this one caught my eye. I always thought this was one of the neatest cards when I was collecting as a kid in the late 60s....They just don't make them like this anymore :)... http://luckeycards.com/mays.jpg |

Awesome card. I had one autographed by Mr. Mays. It wasn't in too nice of a shape (the card), but it was the only one I had seen autographed by him. It brought good money if I remember correctly. |

When I was a kid playing ball we would always try to emulate that catch while practicing. Talk about an iconic catch, and awesomely recorded with that card. I think that catch made an icon out of Vic Wertz too. I hit my first card shop when I was 11 years old (1981) and my first purchase was a Vic Wertz card because I couldn't afford the Willie Mays, my favorite player at that time. What was equally iconic as that catch was the throw afterwards!!! Thanks for sharing Leon... |

Leon Welcome to the dark side of the hobby (That's just a joke son!). Isn't post-war so cool, now go and build a post-war type set (till about 1968 or so) and you'll really have fun Rich |
