PSA Graded Auto

I suppose this may be well known information, but I have to plead ignorance. The following card was just added to Ebay:

Auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/381748573272...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I am used to seeing PSA slabs that note the autograph as Authentic. So the label on this card confuses me. I am guessing the grade refers to the autograph rather than the card. Is that correct? Does the fact that the autograph is graded necessarily imply that the signature is authentic?

I am wanting to bid on this, although I expect it will finish way out of my price range as the 1963 Fleer Adcock is a short print to begin with and it is a Probstein auction.

Any clarification regarding what the label means would be greatly appreciated.

It means the autograph received a grade of 8. The card itself was not graded but is an authentic 1963 Fleer card as opposed to be being a reprint or counterfeit.

I think the main question he has is the auto considered authentic because it received a grade? Im assuming yes but am unsure since I havent dealt with PSA since the 90s.

PSA considers the autograph authentic and to be a grade of 8. I express no opinion as I don't study Joe Adcock autographs.

Are you saying there's something on the flip indicating the card is authentic? Or that you know that from your own expertise?

The flip is saying the autograph is authentic with a grade of 8 and the card is authentic but ungraded. PSA/DNA is for autographs, so the PSA/DNA certification is for the autograph. PSA/DNA wouldn't encapsulate a signature if they didn't think it was authentic.

The 1963 Fleer on the flip says they are saying it's a genuine 1963 Fleer. That's what they are labeling it as. If they thought the card itself was a reprint, the flip would list it as a reprint.

Thank you all for your input.

At this point, I may not bother even bidding. There is one bid already. See for yourself:

Bid retractions (6 months): 4

908 bids over 30 days. 95% of which were with Probstein. I don't know about you, but that is a big old red flag to me.
