Net54 Fantasy Football
 

Hey all, is anyone on the board interested in creating a small fantasy league? I had this idea a while ago and nearly forgot about until tonight.

If you are interested, respond to this post. I'm thinking 10-12 would be a nice size for the league and should be doable. I'm willing to serve as commish and organize it as long as there is enough interest. Once we get a list of participants we can talk about draft date, format, etc. Thanks for considering!

I'm still going to do a Yahoo! league, but I guess my arm can be twisted :)

This could be good, but.....

I did not have a good experience on a pay-for-play net54 league a couple years back. Make sure the draft is BEFORE the first game, set playoff rules before the season begins and keep them (how many teams are in and format), and I'm in.

No doubt. We are already half the way there to a ten team league. We are approaching critical mass!

Alright, I'm going to start sending out invites (to your email, not net54 box) for people to join the league. In the invite I'll give some details on the league and you can figure out whether you want in or not! Thanks for the enthusiastic response so far.

I may be the only football fan in America who has never participated in fantasy football. But I've been wanting to try. I've done NASCAR fantasy for a couple of seasons so sign up was easy. Yahoo offers a video for "first-timers" so I'll have to watch that!

I participated in a mock draft Yahoo gave me a B+ LOL

1. What happens when the defense you pick is on a bye week? Do you just select a defense to use just for that week on waivers?

2. Same for QB if I only select 1 QB, will there be one I can claim on waivers just for one week?

Yeah, in both cases you do exactly what you just said: grab a def or a qb off waivers. Since our league is only 10 teams, there will be plenty of options to pick up off waivers later in the season.

On a side note, to all those that already signed up...thank you! To those that showed interest but haven't got around to joining, please do your best to sign up in the next couple days. On Wednesday I'll prob post a notice to the new member intro board to find others to fill any remaining spots.

Um, I went to the Yahoo draft room, and it indicates this is an "autopick league". I thought there was to be a draft, or did I just waste my evening waiting for a draft that is going to be done by a computer? Why recommend mock drafts?

Noticed it is Autopick and that we only have 9 squads. A bit odd since I thought the issue was finding a night for a live draft. Makes it really tough to add your sleepers and make those critical selections based upon how the draft is rolling.

Guessing this will be a $10 donation and I'll try to make the best of it since most of the skill has been removed and will now require building from Waivers.

Now Tuesday?

League folded. Bummer.

No problem maybe next year. I just joined a random Yahoo league, and completed my draft.

Next year we'll do it with enough time on the front end to prepare.
