WANTED: 1933 Goudey Ruth #144

PSA 1-3 ideal, with crisp focus. Thx.

low grade and nice, something like this? Note the partially erased check mark on lower right back.....it didn't bother me. I paid (what might still be) a record high price. But ya get what ya pay for, imo....

Ah, I know that card well. I drool over it every time you post it. That is my ideal example. I've actually asked a mutual friend of ours if it's for sale in the past! Great, great card, Leon! That focus!

Thanks for the kind words, Matty.....I am blushing.
You probably don't know but this Goudey Ruth, from what I was told, was with a very original grouping of fairly high grade Goudeys. It was one of, if not the, lowest grade of any I saw...and I think it was a full set. I think I paid about a 5 price for it when I bought it but I didn't care. You more than most know the deal. I have had a stupid high number on him at local shows I do as I don't want to sell him. Almost no one, not even the dealers, realize it is as nice as it is (for that card)... This card and the E90-1 Young were cards I wanted back in my collection again....I think I got lucky on both...and I hope you don't mind the chatter in your BST post? This one still drives me crazy. All in fun.

Christ Almighty that Young is off the chain. Forget worthy for the grade; straight up if it said 8 who would object?

You know me, I'm mellow, all good with chatter in the buy post.

As Clarence said in TRUE ROMANCE, "Lee, we park our cars in the same garage."

Yup, I certainly know what you mean, paying for the card and throwing sticker grade right out the window. Heck, remember when I went nuts on this 52T Mick because of its color and centering? I think I went like 250% of VCP average at the time.

But average price tags are for average cards ;)

If you post the Pinkerton Cobb you used to own, you can complete the trifecta and call it a day:rolleyes:
