New SGC Gold Club

Debuting at The National. The grading vouchers pay for the standard level so that seems like a good deal if the member only grading specials are worth it. Im glad to see SGC progressing forward a little. What does everyone think?

This is a step backwards. The "club" thing is one of the things I hate about PSA. If they really want to compete they need to have better IT and implementation of POP reports and registry.

I am not a "clubs" person but like SGC grading......that being said what they are charging is nominal considering the grading they are including ....I would probably opt For it, actually :)

I'm just interested in the t-shirt, if anyone wants to split a membership with me.

A company logo T-shirt? What a novel idea. Wonder where they came up with that one?

wow, if I was a company that wanted to emphasize the differences between me and my main competitor, I might try to avoid copying almost EXACTLY, what had been one of the major differences between the two.

SGC needs to do a much better job marketing themselves. Their holders are awesome.

Flattery is the sincerest form of imitation. Did I get that right?:D

So should I expect the value of SGC specials available to decline as those specials now become "member only?"

The monthly specials that didn't require bulk submissions or memberships were the reason I would send the few submissions I did to SGC.

If I join the SGC Gold Club do I get to attend a free luncheon?

I think this is a step forward for SGC, though they need to market themselves better. They already have outstanding monthly specials. I see the membership as paying for 10 or 30 grading fee's upfront.

With that said, I have never joined PSA's Club. I am not a big fan of PSA in general so I may sound a little bias. PSA has never offered any specials for non club members. Heck, in years past, you had to be a member with PSA just to submit cards!

I would expect SGC to still offer some specials to non club members. I want revert back to the statement about SGC taking a more aggressive marketing approach. If only SGC could develop a software program that could "grade" cards, which would take a lot of bias out of card grading. I honestly don't see this too far fetched. Anyhow, I don't want to get too far off topic.

In the end, I don't mind the Club membership with SGC. The value is there with the vouchers one get for future grading services. Hopefully they keep some sort of monthly specials for non-members.

Speaking of which, has anyone asked/called SGC to see what what kind of monthly "club only" specials they're going to offer?
