T206 Heritage Auction (PSA Set Registry)
 

I'm stunned that nobody has started a thread about this auction already:

The prices realized appear to me to be stunning. $239,000 for a PSA 6 Eddie Plank, $19,000 for a PSA 6 Green Cobb - which was also the same price for a PSA 3 Magie Error. I wasn't bidding - but I'm curious if anybody won anything, or if people had different impressions.

Collectors are not buying those cards... Investors are!

Those were some very, very healthy prices realized on the pre-war cards, imo. Great auction. All involved should be very happy.

This is actually a great time to be collecting and I wouldn't doubt I pick something up again in the not distant future, besides 50s-60s Topps. :o

The t206 SLs Old Mill that were PSA 6-7 went for super prices. I got one at a decent price but most were higher.

$19K for a nice PSA 6 green Cobb isn't shocking to me....

Strong prices on the middle tier backs I was watching (but couldn't afford). Hope some of my buddies snagged the tough OMs and SC 350/25s.

Agreed. I actually thought that seemed low until I saw the picture. A centered 6 goes for more than 19k. Nice card though.

I picked up several of the psa 7 Southern Leaguers

I picked up 11 PSA 6 commons I needed. Thought the prices I paid were fair.
