I just dunno.....
Not really feeling good about this one. Zero feedback and I can't recall ever dealing with a person from the seller's location. Maybe it's just me. Also, the guy previously listed the lot with a starting bid of $1000.00:

Totally feels sketchy just reading the description. Especially when they said they won't let it go for less than $200k lol.

I'm pretty sure these athletes pre-date the Russian doping scandal. So, you're probably good.

Now if it were 200,000 Iraqi Dinar, that would be better, but still out of the price range. |
Totally Sketchy
Check out what else he has listed - a complete set of 1952 Topps high numbers, including Mantle. This lot won't be sold for less than $75,000.
|
He's also literally just copied a couple Dean's Cards Listings including Dean's images. The price disclaimers on every item are against ebay rules obviously and the fact that his location is "Russian Federation" Who would even throw a lowball bid at these?
LMAO, My personal Favorite: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1981-Topps-2...8AAOSweXhXmTnB |
Being from Russia maybe he has some of those rare PSA graded 52 Toops Mantle cards,;)

That listing is gone now. I guess the jig is up!

Whenever you get that "oh not so good" feeling from looking at a vintage card, and you look at lots of them as many of us do, it's good to vet them a bit more. I would venture to guess there are probably at least hundreds, if not thousands, of fakes on ebay as we speak without them being labeled as such or with misleading descriptions (make that the millions :))...

The fact that he had a Mantle graded KGB 10 was a little concerning to me.
