T207 Broadleaf question

For all the guys who have been handling T207s for years:

I am starting to think that Broadleafs may have been factory cut short top-to-bottom fairly often. I have picked up 6 Broadleafs in the last year that are in incredible shape and look factory cut, but are short.

Anyone else noticed a similar phenomenon with BLs? It could just be trimming from a long time ago, but I have picked them up in two different places.

Could be beacuase my T207 Ward Miller Broadleaf is graded A which would support yout theory

I have 29 Broadleafs in my set and none of them are "short." However, more than half have funky cuts top to bottom or side to side, suggesting factory cutting problems were widespread.

Thanks for posting. Do you have any scans handy of the funky cuts? And do these look anything like the cuts you're talking about?

No scans handy, but those you just posted are just like what I am talking about.

I have seen some funky, but what to be original cuts, on quite a few T207s. My ex auction partner had some a few years ago that were really nice and had some inconsistencies which didn't look like trimming, if I remember correctly.

I have noticed MANY T207 that are factory cut short (and long). They are almost always fail to get a numerical grade as they appear to be trimmed. I can't say that I've noticed it more or less with any particular back, but I have a number of graded "A" T207 that I am convinced are factory cut. They generally aren't quite as drastically short as the ones in the original post, but they are certainly cut short.
