Wanted: Help from Game Used Bat Memrobilia Experts
2 Attachment(s)
Hello - I have just become the owner of a Babe Ruth 2015 Leaf Q Bat #/5 Game Used Bat Card. I'm curious to any educated guesses to what part of the bat I have based on the scans provided. I know it will not be able to tell for sure but know there are a lot of guys out there that know more than I about game used bats. Thanks in advance!

bats
Only thing I am going to say on this subject is that it pains me to know that a whole piece of history might have been destroyed into tiny little pieces of wood and yes….I am a vintage bat collector. Sorry.

Hopefully they didn't use any of his bat to make that...

I'm not a card guy what so ever. But I still will never understand those cards, and some of the Crazy Prices they go for

No way to tell for sure (and will refrain from any commentary on these cards...)
It looks like a portion of the barrell of the bat. That type of grain/wood separation is not typically found on the knob, handle or end of the bat. Odds are it's a chunk of the "meaty" part of the bat. Hope that's what you were looking for. Not sure you can pin it down any further. |
I remember the below story awhile back
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/i-...icle-1.1159317 Would not trust any of those game used cards, but I'm sure at least a good 5% are real. : ) and yet they sell. |
Reach out to the CEO of Leaf, Brian Gray and he will be able to give you more information. Brian has always been pretty helpful with collectors when they have questions on his cards.
