Avoid this auction Bad 1982 Topps Football Wax Box

Topic at hand, I actually bought this box weeks ago, I send all my boxes to Steve Hart for his "golden seal" of approval. Before I send any box off I inspect the packs as I'm pretty confident about spotting tampered packs.

This box at hand had a few red flags, the roller seal on back of the backs didn't match up. There was a line in a lot of the packs, which indicates a re-seal job. Plus the corners folds didn't look good either. The "deal breaker" was the the "clearish" glue I spotted along the "seal" on back. :(

Seller refunded me but, insisted he got the box from a close friend 20yrs ago. I actually believed the seller but, I cautioned him about the all the bad signs and he still insisted its good. Again, the seller had no problem refunded me.

Save yourself time and money, avoid!

Thanks for the heads up. I have had the same thing happen. Like you, i send all of my boxes to BBCE. May I ask why you didn't leave negative feedback, especially since he relisted it with no mention of the bad packs? It may keep someone else from buying a bad box.

so this seller is unethical by holding back clear info....bad for the hobby..

The seller has a "brick and mortar" shop in Cali. I still have not left any feedback, I was planning on leaving a neutral as he refunded me. I honestly believe the guy thinks the box is good. Again, claims it came from a close friend 20yrs ago. Who knows?

the close friend from 20 years ago, falls into the category of who cares and he could of gotten it authenticated from someone reputable...

the friend of 20 years is the same thing people that sell raw rookie mantles say .
