OT:When do you expect your card to be shipped?

So I made a purchase on Thursday. I don't know what to think . It was not a high dollar purchase. It was a lot of 5 cards . I purchased them around noon on Thursday. On sat around 2:00 I sent a message asking when the item will be shipped. The reply I received was simply Monday. Nothing else just the word monday💩. It still has not shipped as of this thread.

fast enough

on a holiday weekend I would consider this fast enough. but barely.

I am not a big seller, but typically will mail within 2 business days. As a seller with a full time job, and family matters, I may not have been able to get to the PO during work hours the day after (Friday) and perhaps a little league game was taking place during Saturday PO hours .... just a thought

For me, it depends on the auction format. If it's a regular auction, I fully expect it to be shipped within 2 days. If the seller can't ship within 2 days, they shouldn't be selling. I'm reasonable, and if an emergency comes up with the seller, I can accept that. But don't send me an email at the end of the auction and tell me you're on vacation and you'll ship it when you get back. No, time your auction around your vacation.

If it's a BIN, I allow a little more time. They may be out of town, etc. As Glyn said, this is a holiday weekend. If you bought the cards via BIN, teh seller may have been visiting his dad out of town for Fathers Day. I don't know, just throwing that out there. But if you purchased the cards on Thursday (especially if it was late Thursday) and I think Monday is reasonable to ship.

This would have been a good question posted on the main board.

It was a auction that ended noonish on Thursday. I wanted to post it in the main board but I didn't want to upset anybody. The seller has 4 business days listed under his shipping details. I take that as more likly tomorrow or the next day but at the worst 4days. But why end your auction on Thursday if for what ever reason you can't make it to the post office for four business days.

He may time it that way intentionally. If he ends all his auctions on Thursday, and states 4 days to ship, it may be because his schedule only permits him to ship on Mondays...perhaps he's off on Mondays? Just a thought.

Time

I am just a buyer on ebay. I am often amazed at how quickly I get most items I buy there. It sort of spoils me to the point where if I do not get something within a week I send note asking if it has shipped. Can not remember last time a buyer did not actually send the item. I have generally survived any short delays. I guess some sellers have a life beyond ebay. :)

Yeah me too. I get some cards super fast .I live in nj and the seller is in NY so I figured it would be fast .I get it that people has a life beyond ebay.ive sold a bit on ebay and once something sells I get this feeling of send it out now! Now he did say Monday but is has not been marked as shipped.how long should I wait to say something else considering he's not the best at communication.
What if there is not any tracking ?

Kelleys1 06-20-2016 03:16 PM

I had a new couple new ones this week.

First was was a buyer who purchased on one night and then sent me a message around noontime on the next day wanting to know why he hadn't received his cards yet. I guess he just wanted a fax copy? I racked that one up to a new beater with 3 feedback.

Then second was...I accepted a best offer on Thursday night. Seller got around to paying last night around 9 PM and then within 10 minutes had sent me a message saying he wanted cards shipped on Monday because they were needed ASAP.

All my items say within 3 business days just to give myself room in case life happens but I try to ship within a day or two of receiving payment.

New standards I guess...

Few places were closed Friday

glynparson 06-21-2016 03:41 PM

?

if it was shipped monday and ended thursday how do you get 4 business days. I get one and it was shipped on the second business day. You don't count the day it is, Friday would be one Saturday and Sunday I do not consider business days. Monday would be the second business day. Even if you count Saturday and its limited post office hours the best you could say is 2.5 or 3 days. Sunday surely can't be considered a business day by any stretch. Not an unreasonable amount of time to wait for a card to be shipped.

Rookiemonster 06-22-2016 04:54 AM

He ended up shipping it or at least marking it as shipped late monday. He did not include tracking .

Dustin,

I totally see how this is frustrating. I've been very lucky lately and have received all of my cards/supplies within a week of paying, including one from Hawaii to MA!

What is annoying is when I pay immediately after auction and four days later get the email saying that the item will go out 'in a day or two.' Annoying, but certainly not the end of the world.

Haha yeah I know . I just wanted to ask to see what kind of reply I got. I'm not upset , it just seemed a bit much . But then I thought maybe it was just me . Tomorrow will be a week since I purchased the cards so we will see. I'll post again when I receive the cards .

bobsbbcards 06-23-2016 04:44 AM

LOL, Don't we all.

I can say there are a few great sellers on this forum that send me cards a few to several days before they receive my TTM payment.

ALR-bishop 06-23-2016 07:29 AM

I get cards for preview from one seller before I pay ( not eBay).

I try to anticipate Bob's bids and send him cards sitting on my desk that I don't know what to do with.

Rookiemonster 06-28-2016 07:42 AM

I recived the 5 cards yesterday. It came in a plain white envelope and all the cards were stuffed in a wide top loader. The cards were undamaged .

Really? 2 days or you shouldn't be selling. Wow. I'm three business days. No Saturday, Sunday or Holidays. Plus the day the auction ends I don't count as a day. So I would say reasonably if that was me, I would ship probably by Tuesday. Unfortunately some of us work for a living and can't run to the post office as soon as someone pays. You have some patience and think if you were the seller. As long as I get my stuff within a couple weeks I'm happy especially if it's a few dollar purchase. Most of us are part time hobbyists. I remember ordering cards in the 80s, 4-6 weeks shipping time.
