Thanks Adam. It's yours if you want it :D

Couple of things on this one :

1.) Scans are pretty crappy - right front borders look pretty wapperjawed

2.) Am I missing something - SMR on the Koufax in a 7 is currently at $1600

I could use a 7 Koufax but at $6500 Im not sure I'll ever be able to afford that

Not trying to be rude just trying to understand how the price escalation works.

SMR went out the window on key rookie cards like about 2 years ago. Specifically on Koufax the card is on fire last two months. PSA 6's sell for 3k+
Good luck on your search

Here's eBay's latest sales...

March: $2050, $1750
April: $3000, $2080, $2450, $3160, $2495, $2450
May: $3900, $2600, $3175, $5210, $6000, $6100, $6130
June: $6800

I don't know why, but the price is now about par... I think that there are only a select few "investors" that are buying at these prices.

People that are trying to understand how it works will never pony up .....

I don't claim to know the reason for the price jump either on these, but if you have one then you go with it. I don't take comments on here as being rude unless someone personally attacks me for one reason or another. 50s cards are taking off - especially nice ones. The scans suck you are right. If centering were better I say it is an 8, but we all know that doesn't matter when looking at cards. That would be like saying if the corners and centering were better it would be a 10.....duh statement.

I'll just say this, do I have wiggle room? Sure do, but anyone that managed to get these cards before the huge jump in prices probably does. If someone is interested then feel free to send me an email or PM....I admit I can't always get on the board each day. I don't want to turn this BST post in to a main forum post either - so I just wanted to put my reasoning out there.

Without looking through it. I am pretty sure I would buy every hall of fame rookie from 48-71 in PSA 7 or higher at full SMR. There may be exceptions but probably not.

Agreed. The Rose, Clemente, Koufax, Mantle, Aaron, Namath immediately come to mind. Not sure what cause the huge increase in the past 2 months, when prices have been steady for the past 7-8 years.

Your rebuttal is too vague. What on earth are YOU talking about?
