large scan as requested...I am pretty sure it's the corner bumps, especially the one near his batting grip, that kept it from a higher grade. There is only a very little surface gloss loss mostly on the left next to his chin in the background.

Most 4s I have seen don't look as good as this 2.5 (I am biased). Do you have a scan?

it was posted on net54 and sold ..i think your 2.5 does look better...i have seen 1952 topps mantle 2's look better than some 4s as well..

Then maybe you didn't sell yours too cheaply.

well it did sell as i just wanted to sell it at market price........so if your doesnt sell then all of this discussion a non issue...
