Just love it when you can buy a centered card at a more affordable rate.

Those are 2 really nice ones, guys. I have been looking at them a lot lately for resale. Most are quite O/C. And guess that doesn't matter as much to set collectors as it does others. (but that is a guess)

My two. Just shows that the technical grade doesn't tell the whole story about a card. The one on the right has a print flaw, not a crease. Really glad I got these years ago. Prices have changed just a little.
|
Low grade, but happy I own one. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...8267590ddd.jpg

Sweet Aarons, fellas! Seeing this thread, I may get another!
This one came in today, as I have been looking for a nice mid grade example for some time - corners, centering, color, and budget were the most important factors. Attachment 232642Attachment 232643 Even with the slight diamond cut, I thought this card fit the parameters listed above perfectly. |
Nice thread. Bought this Aaron rookie raw about 2 years ago for a very good price and was happy to get a PSA 3. Has a nice clean back as well.

Henry's rookie has been my favorite ever since I first got interested in vintage cards as a kid. I couldn't afford it then. Fortunately, some things change over time.
|
|
Judging from the prices, it looks like I may never be able to get one!

Anthony - Love that kneeling version. Nice ones!
|
With all apologies in advance to the centering freaks, I had to make do with this.

Jeff - That is flat out awesome!

Aaron's 1954 and 1955 Johnston Cookies card numbers
It is cool that Aaron's 1954 and 1955 Johnston Cookies card numbers matched his uniform numbers; five and 44, respectively. Actually almost all of the players' card numbers in the 1954 set matched their uniform numbers. Maybe it is just an awesome coincidence that Aaron's 1955 card number was 44.
Congrats to Griffins for having the only 1954 kneeling version of this card. It is more than super rare, it is impossible. ;);) Nice cards. Quote:

Boy, you're really slummin' it there, Jeff. ;) Try not to cut yourself with those corners.

Bought this one raw off Buddybaseball. Knew that bottom left corner would cost me a 7, but loved the color and centering. I like the rough-cut for some reason too. Think it is cool looking.

Nice looking card. :) |
this thread made me jelly! and a little disheartened, I doubt I'm going to be able to afford an Aaron rookie unless I get very very lucky. It's just not feasible for me to drop $500 on a single card
|
Here's mine. Been looking for a while!

I still have to get better (or wear better glasses!) when cropping in my cards. Some, I have almost eliminated the holder, and others, I am quite a bit off. Quote:
