Sorta needy sounding AH

I don't usually have the budget for the bigger auctions, so I don't sign up for them. I did sign up with one of the big ones so I could see prices if I log in.

Now, I'm sure some are fine with it, but how many emails are appropriate from an auctions house I haven't registered with?

Apparently four! Less than 4 hours to go, an hour left, 14 minutes left, and extended bidding..........(And if there's extended bidding, then the previous countdown emails weren't accurate)

I can only wonder how many I'd have gotten if I'd registered

Similarly: How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a Tootsie
Pop?

Or, what if a guy hit a home run, but died before he got to first base. Would he be credited with a single?

I think the AH is trying to prevent another "I forgot to bid" thread.

Since we're discussing cosmic questions, here's one:

Why do we buy garbage bags, which they put into a grocery bag, just so that when we get home we can take the garbage bags out of the grocery bag and then put the grocery bag into a garbage bag?

As Joel in the movie Risky Business said, "Sometimes you gotta say, WTF"

If you didn't register, how did they get your email address?

They're members here, so either they picked it up or.......Maybe bought a mailing list? I don't know if Leon does that but in general I'm ok with it if he does because it supports the site.

I did also buy something from them on Ebay, back in February 2015.

Marketing emails are ok, as long as it's only a few. I think I get one from Heritage about every couple weeks, not bad considering how big a scope they have art, space stuff, coins, stamps, sports stuff.

This place did like 4 in a row (and 8 since mid May) and for some odd reason I found it annoying. They've only sent me 29 emails over 2 years so it is a bit odd although the did the same thing in 2014.

As others have pointed out with some humor, it really should be more amusing than annoying. I've vented and gotten a couple laughs at my own expense, so I guess it's all good. :D

I've never registered with Heritage. But I did send them an email to request a Luckey Collection (Hi Luckey) catalog. Since then they send me the occasional email. I don't mind, as I have a couple of non-sport items that might fit nicely in one of their other auctions that never might have occurred to me. Never hurts to see what else is going on besides cards:eek::D:eek:

Yes, they are fine with how they balance the emails

Just to be clear, the ones that sent a bunch the same day are NOT Heritage.
