Brooklyn Dodgers Line Drives Cartoonist "Davis"
Can anyone ID the Dodgers cartoonist who created cartoons used in the Lines Drives newsletter in the 1940s? They are signed simply "Davis" with the dot over the i looking like an apostrophe.

Without seeing the artwork, I will point out that the cartoonist Jack Davis, who dotted his "I" with a slash of a dot, was already active in the late 40's. He went on to be a major contributor to Mad Magazine. I suggest him because he has done some of the card-back cartoons over the years.....Can you post an example of the artwork?

I'm familiar with Jack Davis, but his penned signature is quite different.
This is from the January, 1946 Line Drives newsetter..... http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/a...psjqpabxlk.jpg |

Here are a few from 1945 (I think the first year his cartoons were used).
