SGC submission / order status
Maybe I'm not seeing it, but is there a way on their Site to check/track you submission status, and do they send an email when your order ships?
|
First you need to sign in to whatever account you submitted the cards with. Next go to "Submit cards" pulldown menu near the middle of the page and the 7th pulldown bar says "check submission status". They do also send you an email once it ships.

Thanks, I see it now, appreciate the assist!
|
They also do send an email with a tracking number when they ship.

Sgc submission
How long does SGC take to post grades? My order showed this morning that my cards had been graded, but as of this afternoon no grades are posted.

Sgc submission
I don't understand why they can't post the grades. Telling you they are graded but not posting the grades seems senseless.

With Matt leaving my last reason to stay has evaporated, back to PSA.

1.) Matt leaving - WTF?
2.) Any idea on current turnaround time for 20 day submits? 3.) Have you actually joined the "Gold" Club? |
this is an older thread, but seems relevant for my question.
I sent in a submission to SGC in December, roughly 30 cards, most were under $500 declared value. Cards declared under $500 cost $15 for grading, $500-$1500 cost $35. The value of a bunch of these cards has since moved over $500. When SGC finally gets around to my submission are they going to come and ask me to pay more? a good example is a 55 Aaron which I declared at $400 but is certainly going to be worth over $500 now. Do I have to pay for the fact that their business is 90 days behind schedule? |
They do not generally watch that that closely unless there is a huge discrepancy in the claimed price.
|
My order was estimated to be completed in late March, but I checked the site and it has surprisingly moved to the "post-grading" process.... This could sit on a desk for the next 30 days or might actually be done early, will see.
how long is the post-grading process? Will they post the grades on the site at some point? |

My submission was at that stage for about a month before they shipped back my order. |
Mine was in post grading for 2 weeks. Total time was about 70 work days.
|
I wonder what happens during post-grading?
since the grades are not uploaded yet, my guess is the SGC minions are doing data entry at this point - moving stacks of graded cards on an assembly line, and entering grades into the system. and then packing/shipping. |
my order was received on December 10th with a 70 business day expectation (march 24) and SGC shipped today.... well inside the estimate.
when I actually get it is another story. maybe things are loosening up? I can definitely live with this turnaround. |

Hitting their deadlines
I received back my grades today. My order was received on December 14th, so this is the 72nd day (it was in post-grading processing for five days). Considering holidays like Christmas, New Year's, and President's Day, I'd say SGC hit their estimated time to complete.
72 days sure is a lot better than some of the other TPG's. (It was $15 per card with an estimate of 65-70 days). I'm happy with the grades, themselves, as well. Overall, I'm giving the experience a thumbs up and submitting some more. |
