the prewar thread...
totally kidding guys! :D
|
A fine idea stuck in time
Great idea...if we all confine our pre-war thoughts to just this thread, us pre-war collectors can just ignore all other threads.

I vote for Clemente over Rizzuto and Clapton over Prince and Trout over Harper.

Someone needs to post a card I suppose. Here's my first ever prewar card. I think I got it in the late 1980's. It's trimmed, skinned, and who knows what else but I still like it. I paid a fortune for it at the time for a young boy, probably $15 or so.

Guess I'd better get around to purchasing a pre-war card!
Any cheap suggestions? |

First pre war card

My first pre war card was a T206 Clark Griffith that I bought from Teletrade. PSA said it was trimmed.
Here is another pre war card for your viewing pleasure. This is a 1917 Weil Baking. Cards from this set seem to be much more difficult to find than the 1916 Weil Baking cards or the 1920 and 1921 Holsum Bread cards. I wonder if anyone has ever put a full set of these together? I wonder if all 200 cards in this set exist? Rick |
A pre-war thread on a pre-war board, what a great idea!! This is pre-war....
