Which would you rather have?
|
Tough choice, but I have to say that Cobb is amazing. I'm guessing back damage? I guess based just on the front, the Cobb.
|
It is a tough choice but I think I would go Cobb also. I love the color and focus of the front of that Cobb. Its my favorite of the T206 Cobbs because of the colors and it shows his hand grip on the bat. Only thing that may sway is, if there is writing on the back!

Sign me up for the Aaron!
|
You can find an Aaron like that any where, and maybe even one centered better. But if you don't mind the back you're not going to find many 1.5s that look that good. Go with the Cobb and pick up an Aaron later would be my advice.
|
I'm on the fence. The Cobb is harder to find. But the Aaron rookie is more significant. There are 3 other Cobbs in T206. Only 1 Aaron rookie from topps.

Cobb....great eye appeal and probably a decent price based on the grade......'buy the card not the holder!'
|
Because I currently collect cards from mostly the 50's and 60's, I'd likely choose the Aaron, but for me, as I'd also love to own a Cobb, it would likely come down to which one I could afford more. (Which I am sure this isn't a problem here?)
2 very nice cards that I'd love to own. :) |
I would go with the Cobb. Great eye-appeal for the grade. You can find PSA 3 Aaron rookies with better appeal than the PSA 4 you have listed. It would be much harder to find Cobb with better eye-appeal with a lower grade. My 2 cents.

No contest - Cobb all the way.
10 million 54T cards made... BTW, Aaron, very overrated player. Quote:

Cobb. I love the colors on the card and just like everyone else has said "Great eye appeal"
|
I love me some Hank Aaron, but no contest, the Cobb T206 Cobb is the way to go. It presents beautifully.

How many players are members of both the 3,000 hit club and 500 HR club? Aaron, without a doubt, is one of the top 5 HITTERS ever and played a fantastic RF. He also played home games in County half the season - quite the pitchers park. |
and I'd take the Cobb .....
|
Take away Aaron's 755 home runs, and he still has 3,000 hits.
2,297 RBI, 6,856 total bases, 23 years in the Majors, and he still kept a lifetime .305 average after 13,941 plate appearances. Quote:

Cobb--
I love the 3 Cobbs I have, and also feel love for my Aaron too. Still looking to finish my 4 Cobb run. They do have wonderful eye appeal. I considered dumping some of my 50's RC to pursue more pre-war stuff, but my brother will hold them hostage. |
Aaron is way over rated - all day every day!!!
His cards and his numbers. Period. I'd take Ted Williams over him, easily. |

But Aaron's numbers overrated? LOL, that's the most absurd statement I've ever seen posted on this forum. Just getting to the Major Leagues is hard. Being a good player takes a lot of work. Being a great player requires an incredible work ethic, superior athleticism and a certain amount of natural ability that cannot be taught. Aaron was a great player. He managed to play for 23 years. 3,298 games played. Nearly a quarter of a century of elite baseball. That alone should say something about his standing in the history of the game. Hank Aaron averaged 107 runs scored, 185 hits, 31 doubles, 5 triples, 37 home runs, 113 RBI, and a .305 average per 162 games played....for twenty-three years! In 1973, while he was approaching his 40th birthday, he hit 40 home runs, and drove in 96 runs....in 392 at bats. He had a 1.045 OPS. He only won one MVP, but he finished in the top three of the MVP vote seven times. But yeah, he was totally overrated. That's why he got 97.8% of the vote on his first shot at the Hall of Fame. |
Bill,
He's trolling and making blind statements without backing it up. Ignore him and he'll go away. |

Cobb, hands down.
