All,

I primarily collect old baseball photos but about to do a big/weird deal. Please pretend it is a prewar baseball card. Lol
The card below is one I would be receiving in this blockbuster deal.

The very number cks out but I am an idiot when it comes to the legitimacy of a holder. Does this look legit? And help would be greatly appreciated.

Ben

My little bit of knowledge tells me to look for any frosting on the edges. However, I might be behind the times on forgeries. Looks like clean edges from the scan though.

Looks fine by me, and recently reholdered with the hologram, so that checks out. No wear to the case, and card is spectacular.
If you're worried, send it back to PSA for a reholder when you get it in. Congrats!

Looks good to me, Ben.

No expert

I see frosting above Magic Johnson. And two marks on the back . If you look on the back to the left of where it says Matt Greer.

The problem is it is an online deal and I don't know if I will have recourse afterwards. It is a trade. There does appear to be some frosting as stated below. Any experts on frosting on here?

I know very little about this card, but isn't it possible to id a few fakes based on the perforation pattern?

Maybe you could ask the other guy to send the card to psa for a reholder and then have psa ship to a middle man to whom you also send your cards. A bit of a pain in the butt but you would have some confidence in the card and nobody would have to go first.

The card looks fine to me.
Most PSA cards have some "frosting". You just have to catch the light right. But, it isn't the extent of a busted case.
I've busted plenty of SGC and PSA cards. It is very obvious.
Also, the new PSA holders, with the interlocking lip, is very hard to crack. Unless you clip the corner.

I think it is good-to-go.

honestly

I think it is good, however I would invest in a plane ticket and do it in person. Unless it was someone with a stellar reputation. Nothing beats having something in hand to inspect.
