CLOSED: 1972 Topps Lot...Day 12, Reverse Auction, sort of
OK, I've tried this once before and it was kind of fun, so here goes. I'm going to list a bunch of 1972 Topps cards up for auction. However, I don't take cash...you can only bid with a scan of a card in trade. Since I collect T205 and T206 Sovereigns, those bids will tend to get higher weighting in case of multiple bids on the same day. If there are no bids at the end of the day (10PM Mountain Time), I'll add some more cards for the next day. The bids must be pre-WWII cards (no strip cards), but condition doesn't matter to me. I reserve the right to not accept a bid for whatever reason, but I'm generally not too picky. Shipping is on me, and you pay to pop yours in an envelope. Questions?

Edited to widen the bid rules. I will accept pre-WWII in bids, so Goudey, Play Ball, etc are in play. Other than that, same rules as above.

Day 9

Day 10
No scan today, since I'm sitting in an airport, but added the Killer and a couple more!
|
Day 11
A couple more added!
|
I will make an offer tomorrow if someone doesn't jump on it today. I won the last auction item, so I'm trying to give someone else a shot...
|
Here's a scan of a few more... includes Manny Sanguillen, who missed the flight with Roberto Clemente because he couldn't find his car keys. A great catcher that happened to play at the same time, in the same league as Johnny Bench. And Steve Swisher.

Opening bid:
http://img.comc.com/i/Baseball/1934-...&size=original 1934-36 National Chicle Diamond Stars R327 #22 - Jimmy Wilson [BVG*2.5] Courtesy of COMC.com I will be happy if someone outbids me, but I couldn't let all those HOF'ers and variations go by another day. |

Top bidder
That's a tough call, but I think I will call the Diamond Star the top bid right now. I am hoping on a plane to Denver, so any other bids will take their chances against the Diamond Star, since I won't be able to update it before 10PM Mountain Time.
Good luck...and thanks for the bids! |

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!
OK, just rolled into town and have to pick the winner! It's a tough call, but I think Jimmysuitcase's Babe Herman and Batter Up barely nudge out the Diamond Star. Thanks for the bids, guys. I'll probably do something similar again soon, so if you have any inputs, let me know.
