Who buys this crap???
|
It is scary to realize that there are so many idiots in the world.
But look at what is going on around you and you realize that there are so many I D I O T S. |
Probably the same people who were paying through the roof for Griffeys off Shop at Home.
|
It blows my mind how fire resistant those vintage cards are.
|
"Sometimes I feel like I am the only normal person and I am looking at the world through idiot glasses!"
|
Someone is making a nice return off these cards. It amaze me so many people fall for it and spend a couple hundred bucks on garbage.

Same as those who buy that GFA (Stephen Rocchi) certed crap (machine-produced autographs on paper made well over a decade after Mickey Mantle passed away). |
:confused::rolleyes::eek::eek:
The market's really small for Carolina Brights Wagners these days:rolleyes::rolleyes: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-T206-CA...sAAOSwP~tW4z~a However, Polar Bear '206 Wagners seem to be on the rise!!:D:D:D http://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-T206-PO...4AAOSwAuNW5cl5 -Owen:) |
I would take a guess and say HARDCORE collectors!
|
You mean these are fake? Man, I was planning to LIGHT UP the March pick up thread with my new T206 Wagners!
|
I think the bigger question is - Where does anyone find all this crap to sell?

Things just got that much more expensive for collectors putting a Wagner back run together. :D
|
It's not the card price that is so bad, it's the shipping!:D
|
The dirty, clumsy pyro within us
I think everyone here has learned their lesson and will no longer handle their cards so roughly. At one time I imagine these were fine looking reprints with nary a flaw before some clumsy, dirt-crazed pyro got a hold of them.

I think P. T. Barnum answered this question.

In the words
As Big Tom Callahan said, I can take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed. But for your own sake, for your daughters sake...
|
A quote from one of this douchebags ads:
"Having problems with buyers not paying for their items." Duh,,, I wonder why? |
I'm gonna buy him out then hire an 80 year old man to sell them at a flea market with the "These were my dad's and they've been in the attic for years and I have no idea what they are worth so I will take $50 each for them" spiel. :D
|
In light of this
Public service announcement-
Have a conversation with your grandparents before it is too late. Obviously there are hundreds of Wagners and Ruths sitting comfortably in their attics just begging to be brought into the marketplace. Please, please, before they end up in an estate sale! |

But you don't just get a great card, you can also get a great cut auto!
|
Some of them are people looking for reprints to sell off as authentic cards, IMO. I acquired a bunch of newer licensed reprints a few years back as part of a big collection and sold them all lumped together just trying to get rid of them. I can't tell you how many inquiries I got from people asking if I had more that showed wear, etc.
Why someone would pay $30.00 for a reprint when you could create your own is beyond me. But I do think some of them are people fully realizing they are reprints and selling at flea markets or to others at higher prices trying to pass them off as real. |

I mean WHO in their right mind wants a beat to hell REPRINT Mantle graded by a third rate grading company???? |

The buyers figure they will make it up on volume.

The people who buy that crap are delusional collectors and scammers (who flip them as originals). |

Nice Mick and it's graded correctly!!
That is so awesome. I actually like it and would pay at least 50 cents for it just for a laugh... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1952-Topps-M...0Vo&rmvSB=true . |

The buyers have Craigslist accounts.
