1973 Hall of Fame Induction Weekend Signed Baseball - 20 + HOFer's - PSA/DNA
6 Attachment(s)
First time offered for sale, my friend obtained these autographs himself in Cooperstown during Hall of Fame induction weekend in 1973. Immaculate condition, and jam packed with Hall of Famers, many of which passed away in the coming year or two are quite tough to find on a baseball (Marquard, Hooper, Rice, etc). Virtually no toning on the ball and autographs are nearly as bold as the day they were signed. $$$$$SOLD$$$$$$$$ or trade for mid grade Red or Green T206 Ty Cobb Portrait. For those who are interested in third party authentication, it was just recently reviewed by PSA/DNA at a local event and passed authentication (paperwork from PSA/DNA will be available in a couple weeks). Full list of autographs on the ball is as follows (there are two unidentified, if anyone recognized them please shoot me a PM :)
Rube Marquard Waite Hoyt Warren Giles George Kelly Ted Lyons Mrs. Babe Ruth Bill Terry Charles Feeney Sy Morton Joe Bush Bowie Kuhn Joe Medwick Stan musial Casey Stengel Jesse Haines Buck Leonard Harry Hooper Joe Cronin Stan Covaleski Unidentified Sam Rice (Twice) Lefty Grove Monte Irvin Luke Appling Vera Clemente |
Looks like HOFer Bowie Kuhn is below Musial

Thanks tazdmb, that one was bugging me. I knew who it was when I first got the ball, but kept thinking MacPhail this morning and knew it wasn't him. Thanks for the reminder.

I LOVE the fact that it is a 73 ball and has Vera Clemente on it. I have never seen that before but would think it would make it very interesting to a Clemente collector. Really nice condition as well.

Very nice piece. Surprised he held it this long.

Bump. Any interest in trades for the above mentioned or cash/trade offers? It's a really nice looking, unique ball just loaded with Hall of Famers.

I am selling this ball now on a no reserve auction on eBay, ending this Sunday. I personally think it's a gorgeous ball and I am sure whoever wins it will be very pleased with it. The bid is still very attractive and I hope that whoever wins it may be a forum member. It formerly belonged to my friend who obtained the autographs himself in 1973 in Cooperstown. I will put the link below in case anyone is interested. Thank you for taking the time to look. Jeff

One of the autographs is Buddy Burbage, who played in the Negro Leagues.
http://www.baseball-reference.com/re...d=burbag000bud I am guessing he was there with Sy Morton, who also played in the Negro Leagues to support Monte Irvin who was being inducted in 1973. |
