Anyone else get a problem with GavelSnipe tonight? Was working fine for a few snipes then started saying "insecure ebay password" ??:confused: I went in and reconfirmed, successful - still happened. If it was just on my end, I'll have to figure out why - strange as it was fine for first few snipes, then that.

If it happened to others - some other sniping or live bidding buyers got good deals and/or some seller(s) got hit

You must have a weak password. Once you change it on eBay to a stronger password, make sure to change it back in your sniping service. At certain times (usually Sunday nights), eBay runs captcha programs to catch bots placing bids with easily cracked passwords.
So increase the difficulty of your password, and try again.

John, thanks - had no idea .. especially since it was fine for the first few snipes. I've had same eBay password for a while now - no issues, but thanks again - will take the steps you noted and hope that fixes the problem.

Same thing costs me a nice card. It must be a glitch because my eBay password is complex and no problem with prior snipes. Yes , as a seller I got hit on a couple items

I had not heard of this prior (John, again, thank you) - all was fine on first few snipes - then this. I had several snipes in w/a lot of auction style listings ending last night, typical Sunday night, etc. Some things came in well below what I had sniped at - and relatively low at that. :( I also won a few that I thought went well lower than I had anticipated - which made me question if that had hit others last night as well.

John noted this usually happens Sunday nights - I would think that's the worst possible time to run spider/bot cleaners as many they "clean" are "good" bots - real human bids/traffic. As noted, i would bet there are a few consignors to PWCC who last night got a ROI far less than they had expected.

I'm not going to mess around with passwords, just think it was an unfortunate gavilsnipe situation.

Good ol' Ebay, lookin' out for us again. :rolleyes:

I had the same problem last night. Would have been the high bidder on an E-98. I noticed it in time to make my other bids the old fashioned way.
