Is Ted Williams in this photo?

He played with San Diego in 1936 but only 42 games and I am guessing this photo may have been taken before he arrived.

The guy on the far right in the Hollywood Jersey is the one they are telling me is Ted.

That guy looks older than 17 years old to me.

All opinions are welcome

Thanks
Dan

Don't think so

Dan,
I have several late 1930's San Diego/Millers photos and team photos with Ted in them. Based on facial structure and ears, I don't think Ted is pictured in this photo. I have to admit, I have not seen this photo prior. I will try to find a higher resolution of this photo, magnify it and look harder. I have found Ted show up in unexpected places (i.e. he is in the back row of the 1961 Topps Red Sox team photo [3rd in from right], even though his playing days ended in 1960).

Does not look like him to me.

Nope

Ted Williams is not in that photo.

A few other notables are, though:

Middle row: Bobby Doerr (2nd from left), Vince DiMaggio (4th from left).

Thanks everyone, I will use this thread to return the item.

Dan -

I had seen this item and agree that the Splended Splinter is not in this photo. I would have been interested in it for the early Doerr image, but knew the price would go too high because of the mis-identification. Good luck with the return!

Some of the guys are wearing what looks like to be Hollywood jerseys. What team would that have been?

That is Bobby Doerr.

I also agree that Ted Williams is not in the OP's photo. I have a 1937 Padres team photo that Ted is in, and I see no one in the above 1936 photo who could be him.
