1973 Pirates Stargell jersey

Does anyone have a 1973 Pirates road jersey? I want to compare the Rawlings tag as mine is on the front inside part of the jersey. I have some 1972 home jerseys that are all in the back inside tail of the jersey

If I recall Rawlings tags for the Bucs should be inside. There should be a set flag tag to the right of the Rawlings tag, if it is missing, there should be evidence of damage from it being removed and/or a piece of the white tag could still be attached.

Also, check your left sleeve for evidence of the Clemente memorial patch. During the season they had a round "21" black patch, but I understand there was also a rectangular patch at some point as well, possibly during spring traning where they could be on 1972 jerseys. If the patch was present, there should be some holes or some evidence a patch was once attached (even possible fading.

It's been a long time since I collected this stuff but I was very active in the 70s. In hindsight there were a TON of knit fakes floating around from that era, mostly thanks to a guy in Florida and another in Northern California.

MooseDog, thanks for the response. Their is definitely the outline on the left sleeve for the "21" patch without the rectangular patch from spring training, so that looks right to me. The Rawlings tag looks legit but it is missing the year tag and I don't see any remaining evidence of it being their.

My question on the Rawlings tag is should it be on the front side tail of the jersey? I know my 1970 and 1972 ones are all on th eback side tail of the jersey.
