favorite pre 1980 hockey set(post war)
1954 Topps for me.

I don't know why but I have always liked the 72-73 Topps/OPC sets. Finished the Topps, still need a couple dozen of the OPC if anyone has them to trade....

I like the 1954 Parkhurst (stat backs) and the 1954 Topps. I have finished the Parkhurt, and 10% of the way for 1954 Topps.

1924 Maple Crispettes 30 cards. They smell like bacon! Seriously though they reek of nostalgia. Cutouts, collected casually at your own pace.

1954 Topps for me, too, but 1955 Parkie/Quaker Oats is very cool as well...

1967-68 Topps.
First set I ever bought a pack for and collected, and the last pre-expansion (Original 6) set for hockey. Love the colors and the player selection from my youth. |
Mine...
1974-75 OPC WHA is my favorite. Great jersey shots.
|
72-73 OPC high number WHA series; 73-74 Quaker Oats WHA panels.

Is this even a fair fight? Come on man......

I like the 1954 Topps hockey as well, relly welldesigned card that has a real vintage look. Also like 1965 Topps hockey as well very nice set with clean graphics and photos, the 128 card set is loaded with rookies and hall of famers, only issue, no Bobby Orr cards in it :(

As a kid, I always liked the 69-70 cards like the Howe in the upper left corner.
I also have some early 70's left over from my childhood so those are definitely up there as well. |

After the 1954 Topps set my next choice for a favourite would be the 1966 Topps USA Test set because of this one card...

For me, it's 1964-65 Topps. Always loved the tallboys and I collected this as a kid back when it could take years to even locate them.

73-74 topps with the groovy colors
