OT: Babe Ruth Quote Attribution Help Needed
 

I am hoping someone can steer me in the right direction, or possibly even answer my question. Babe Ruth is quoted as having said that he would give a year of his life if he could homer in the first ever game at Yankee Stadium. He supposedly said this to either a reporter or a group of reporters on the field before the game.

My question is if there is a particular writer to whom the quote can be traced back to. If so, who was that reporter? Is there any good way to find this info?
