Olbermann on September 1973 New York show
As a supplement to Keith Olbermann's article in Sports Scoop about the first sports collecting convention in New York on Memorial Day weekend 1973 (which I posted here: http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=217584), here is Olbermann's report on the second New York convention on September 14-16, 1973, the one that was reported on in the first issue of Sports Collectors Digest that I posted recently (here: http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=217489). This report by Olbermann appeared in the November 1973 issue of Sports Scoop, and it includes his description of the increase in market prices of vintage cards in the four months since the first convention in May. He writes: "Inflation (in collecting, the result of increased demand, increased age, increased ability to pay at high prices, but not necessarily decreased supply) threatens to make collecting solely a rich man's game if it is not curbed quickly."
