eBay scam ?
1 Attachment(s)
Just seen this on eBay . There seems to be something off with it .
The same seller is also selling a fake 52 mantle . The seller is kingmike903. |
....
The guy has over 500 deals with perfect feedback and has some high dollar deals in his past. The Bowman Mays is fine.
The Mantle Rookie is obviously a fake but those who will be fooled are lining up and bidding. He is a little shady on his wording but he does bring up the question that it could be fake so......caveat emptor as always. Peace, Mike PS "There's a sucker born every minute" as either David Hannum or P. T. Barnum noted still rings true today in the year 2016 and will still be true into the next millennium. |

I would not buy anything from a seller who's also scamming people with fake 52 Mantles, even if that Mays is real. The fake one sold for almost $500. Love the description. Could it be fake...yes Could it be real...yes.
I don't think there's much of a chance it was real. |

"A little undergraded but there tough on the rookie cards"
I wouldn't trust someone with thousands of dollars who doesn't know the difference between "There" and "They're", or any other combination. And that's news to me that Beckett is tough on "thum thar Rookie Cards". |
In the past six months he's sold:
1948 Leaf Ruth for $247; Nolan Ryan rookie for $199; Pete Rose rookie for $742; A different Rose rookie for $385. All were ungraded, and all were VG or excellent. Great buys for someone. Assuming that the cards were all real. |
If the sticker for BVG fell off (and it certainly could have), he should have sent it in for reholdering before auctioning it off.
