Transaction on Beckett Marketplace
I wanted to get peoples input and expeience in Beckett Marketplace. I purchased something there for the first time in a long time and had a poor experience. I bought a card the other night for $1200 which was reasonably priced for a GAI card of that grade. When I reached out to the seller about my purchase he proceeded to tell me it was a pricing error and offered to sell me card for $3000. I said no and said I understand mistakes happen. He stated it was a pricing problem form Beckett. However, what gets me is that he has proceeded to relist the card for $8000.
So wanted to get opinions on this and others usage of the Marketplace. Is it a pricing issue or is this seller not wanting to honor his price that he commited to. |
what kind of card was it, what would help to determine an obvious pricing error...

Baseball rookie but does card matter? Especially that they reoffered to me for $3000 and relisted for $8000?
At this point I dont want to put anything to reveal seller or card. |
Not sure how the whole "marketplace" thing works, but is there a way to file a formal complaint to Beckett??? I mean, it seems like Beckett Marketplace would want to know about this seller's behavior...Then again, maybe not...

EMail me the details and I will get your concern to the proper person

Well a psa 7 of the card Smr's in the $1600 range which is a good comparison to a gai 8 if not trimmed. However some even value them less than that which to me didnt think much of a pricing error. Sorry but dont want to reveal card or seller...at this point.

In that case personally I would just stay away and let it go. I think your odds of crossing a GAI 8 to a PSA 8 would be significantly less than the odds it would end up in a PSA Auth holder. I would pay the 1600 and just buy a PSA 7 elsewhere. As for the seller it sounds like he's trying to get over PSA 8 money for a GAI 8 card. People like that are hard to reason with.

I am asking about whether others have had experiences like this on marketplace or whether it should be allowed or challenged. Not really about whether I got a good deal/bad deal. Should a seller on beckett marketplace be able to cancel an order. Are there glitches.

as to the original poster....it really doesn't matter what the process is when it comes to a mistake in price. If its a legit mistake which would depend on the card which you aren't saying, then the seller always can get out of it in terms of the power of the website entity if its an issue where you didn't receive a card and want your money back, then the process thing makes more sense as you maybe able to get your money back using the available issues and the website could be responsible as well...but I have never heard of making someone sell an item that's obviously underpriced...again if don't know the card than who knows.. even if we are in reasonable price land...its easier to fight to get/return transfer of money which can happen electronically in most cases than physically make someone mail a physical item without court intervention.. |
I have never used Beckett marketplace such as the South Africa, like, the Iraq.. but there are some people... who don't have Becketts, such that the America's should help them with prices... for the future... for the children.
