1930 A's Team photo question
About 20 years ago, I was attending an estate sale of a long time neighbor. Looking through many of the items that were going up for sale, I found some old newspapers. I saw that they went back into the early 30's. I opened them up and looked at the sports news of the day. When I opened one of the newspapers, it had a large insert of the 1930 Phila. A's championship team. It was from the Phila. Inquirer, Oct. 5, 1930 and measures about 10 1/2" x 16". Some of the players; C. Mack in the center, Foxx, Grove, Cochran, Simmons, etc. I purchase the papers to save it from possibly getting thrown away.
I looked on ebay and found 8x10s of the same photo. But this is an original insert from the newspaper, not in the best of condition, but nice for it's age. I put the newspaper insert of the A's team in a frame and have it out of direct sunlight hanging on a wall. What can be done to preserve it, is it worth finding someone to restore it, or let it as is. Any thoughts of value? |
A's photo
These are newspaper premiums issued in both 1929 and 1930. The 1929 issue featured both world series teams-one A's and another Cubs. In 1930 I think it was only the A's. Both inserts are similar in design but different team photos of the A's. I have all three and think they are very cool.
