Long beach expo meetup I plan on heading to the Long Beach Expo sometime over its weekend run (Feb. 4-6) would love to meet some fellow Net54er's::::feel free to PM me if interested in meeting up |
 I plan on going. |
Would be fun to meet up but looks like the show is mainly coin and currency. Am I interprting this correctly? |
I drove down this time last year and it was 95% coin and currency. There were a handful of sports card dealers. I was specifically looking for CJ's and there wasn't one in the house. |

Will be there Setup with Andy Madec sop by and say hi. |
Does anyone know if PSA does onsite grading? |
PSA will be there. Booth 1231. Dunno if they're doing onsite grading. |
PSA will not be grading onsite. |
I'll probably swing by to drop off a submission- there is never more than a few tables so it's not really a card show. Jason, Adam and I were talking about putting on another show in the Valley sometime before summer. |
Long Beach Expo I went last year. Very disappointed. It's really a coin show trying to become a combination card/sports show. There were very, very few booths. Wasn't worth a plane ticket and hotel room :( |
Will be set up as part of Amazing Adventures... The show could use more support from sports dealers. Amazing that a region with 20 million people can't have a sports show. Anthony, if you set a date on your show you're welcome to drop off flyers for it at the table |

hope someone can bring back a nice annual show to LA |
Back in the 90's, the expo had equal amounts of baseball card dealers and coin dealers. Nowadays, it 97% coin dealers. |

3 Attachment(s) Drove down from the office after work today. I was pleasantly surprised that there were a few more card dealers set up vs. last year. Still 98% coins. Passing booth after booth of coins in holders I would get a massive headache if I was a collector! I was able to spend a couple hours talking to the various dealers and purchased a N162 Caruthers and traded some dup 14 CJ's to a super nice dealer named Jean for T206 Becker, 33 Goudey Lindstrom and two T3's raw (Chance and Stahl). |
I went today. Mark McCrae has over 100 Raw T206's. Lot's of vintage. Maybe a dozen card dealers. I'm going tomorrow also. |
I plan on going tomorrow. If anyone wants to meet up, feel free to send me a pm. |
I wasn't going but my wife wants to pick up a new pet in Torrence so will be close. Why not in this case. Ken |
Just finished the show. Lots of coins, little baseball. Did pick up 9 T205 cards including 3 HOF cards. Good haul for not much there. Met Mark MaCrae |
Ken did you buy the raw T205's from the dealer on the right of the PSA booth? And was the Mathewson one of the HOFers? |

The answer is yes, I bought 6 T205 cards from the gentleman that you mentioned. However, I did not buy the Matty card as I was only looking for Cubs with different backs. I did buy a Morticai 3 fingers Brown with Red Sweet Caporal Back and a Frank Chance with a Polar Bear back. His cards were overpriced at first but he did negotiate and ended up being fair. Also bought 3 T205 from Mark MaCrae so added a total of 9 cards and found 1 back/ front varieties that were not listed in my original 151 cards so now the set will end up being 152 different card types for the Cubbies. |
