Cards you recently"noticed.

IT's uncanny how we can think of an issue and envision a particular card down to particular details in many cases...and I'm not talking cards like cj cobbs and t206 green cobbies.
I'm talking cards like the 15 cj frank smith...the m116 bush(because it looks weirdly like a bush...the t206 gaspar...the e96 arrelanes...more obscure cards. But every now and then I see a card I never really noticed that strikes me. This just struck me! |
I feel the same way about the Goodwin Jack Glasscock. I know nothing about 19 century, but I like that card.

This was one for me, I had no idea about it till seeing it posted here. Also love the Oakes, but have yet to land one.

Nice topic. This has happened to me several times recently, the latest is the 33 Goudey Paul Richards. (This is not my card.)

Typically a card needs to be a HOFer to get my juices flowin', but these cards struck me regardless of the player's achievements...
|
+1 on the E-90-1's Unglab, Jordan, Oakes, or any of them with that red sky. Also love the '33 Goudey Richards and just about all of the T212-2's.
I would like to add the E93 Tommy Leach and E96 George Gibson. Both if which are atop my wantlist. |
T205 Cubs for me with different backs
|
Dan, great card. Is it yours. :)

Pete... You've Opened up an Area of What i Believe ta Be,
A Very Intriguing Thought... One that has been a bit of a Guide fir me, Fir quite some time now! Although it hasn't been just recent... i've had this feelin ever since i Started Type Card Collecting a number of years back. The Thought of the idea of, "A Card You Recently Noticed"... Weighs Heavily into the Type Card that i eventually end up Hunting! Here is a Copy of an E96 Mowrey that has Truly Caught my Attention!!! The Artist has Captured Mr. Mowrey wit an Intensity & Portrayal of a "Mob Hit Man's" Mentality... i've been Lookin fir a Really Nice one fir quite sum time now... Just Missed MattyC's PSA 6 of Mr. Mowrey a Few Months Back On the BST! i do have a decent one that i just picked up from Andy B, But i am Still Looking fir one that has Brilliant Eye Appeal  This is Not the one i own... i have yet ta scan mine! |
This is kind of cheating since I didn't just notice it, but my T211 Gygli has always entranced me. The name, the eyes, the pose -- what's not to like?

E90-1 McIntyre

For me it is rediscovered, as I own one but it never struck me before...the E90-1 McIntyre recently caught my eye, and I thought, hum, that is just a neat, colorful card. The McIntyre shown is not mine.

This thread is awesome. There are so few cards as iconic as the T206 portraits, but even though I know barely anything about him, this T212 portrait of Byrnes is the ultimate tobacco portrait to me. Never get tired of looking at it (and might I add, excited to get mine back from PSA after doing a crossover submission!)...

Never really paid much attention to the Goudey sets as my focus is more on t206's, t205's and e90-1's but I just really love the 1933 Ott. What a grimace, I feel like it really captures his intensity.

This happens to me all the time with T206 cards. Part of the joy of collecting the set. I used to not care for these two cards and now I want to get both of them.
The Overall's I lost both of them last night but recently have also been on my radar. His 3 cards are some of my favs in the set. |

To me, Norman Rockwell had a hand in creating this one.

There are some really great cards in the '33 Goudey set. The Ott and Paul Richards are two of my favorites.

Great cards !!!!!!!!!!
I agree with Denny, I'm glad I don't owe Mowrey any money ;) Interesting that a lot of cards that fall on this post are from the E90-1s. That's why I LOVE them !!!!!!!!!!!! You get to appreciate images that you don't see everyday, and the poses and colors are UNREAL -- from the beautiful pastels of Bell to the grand contrast of the gray uniform of Tannehill against vibrant background. :) If you're into Sunsets, this issue is for you !!! Attachment 218292 Fun stuff, Scott  |

Nice cards Scott (and everyone else). For me, it is a few T207 poses that I hadn't ever noticed before.

Just like the M101-4 of Shawkey, a guy in the background got my attention on this card. Early photobombing.
|
Not sure why but recently I became really enamored by this card. I know its been gloated over before. But not sure if any card has moved me like this one:

Not sure how to categorize these from an artist point of view

But these are cool...

I've always liked the T206 Brown (Browne.) The artwork seems different (to my eye, at least) compared to most others from the issue. Almost like it could be an Obak, possibly an E card.

I just discovered how cool the 1910 Tip Top Bread cards are. Would love to add this Wagner to the collection some day.
