Any expert personalization removers out there?
1 Attachment(s)
Was hoping someone out there might be confident enough to try with this piece as I am not. I dont have it in hand yet but I do believe it is signed in marker on a litho. I will pay for the work obviously and this is not going to be resold. I plan on getting Lovell and Borman and putting in on my wall :)

That's an awesome piece, one of the most iconic photographs ever taken signed by the man who took it.
I'm sure you could probably pay a ton of money to a museum quality paper conservator to do what you want, but honestly, I'd leave it as is. |

checking in again to see if anyone can suggest an expert on removing personalizations?
thanks |
Sean - one problem you may run into is even if you are successful in removing the signature, the "To Pete" will leave a discoloration mark, so you will always see that the writing was there. Sometimes, the remnants of the writing make the photo look worse. Instead of a clean photo, you're left with one that looks like it faded.

Sean,
Leave it the way it is. Personally I like personalization with an inscription, I think it adds something to the piece. Though when it just says "To Pete, Mickey Mantle" I don't like that much. |
yeah im probably too afraid to risk it anyways. I plan on adding Lovell and Borman this year hopefully

I definitely wouldn't risk removing it. Just start going by "Pete" and call it a day! :p
