WTB: Signed 1948 Bowman Baseball - COMPLETED!
Down to only needing 1 signed card to complete the set:
#20 Buddy Kerr If anyone has this card for sale, please let me know. Here are scans of the cards I currently have: http://net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=195896 Thanks, James |
Picked up Warren Spahn.
Now down to final 2! |
Final 2!!!
Looking for the last 2 cards needed for the set:
Buddy Kerr Pete Reiser |
Does anyone have either of these 2 cards signed? Finding it funny that these last 2 cards are so difficult to find!
|
Bump!
|
Reiser was extremely popular during his playing days, but passed in 1981. I've only seen a few cards signed by him. Surprising given his popularity and longevity as a manager, then again not too many people would send cards through the mail, and who brought along a 1948 card of a now manager to get signed in the 70s.
Kerr being born, bred, as well as having played in NY, and living until 2006 is certainly strange that he hasnt come up yet. Maybe the Bowmans weren't as popular, or as plentiful to have signed? Same type of things happen in every year of collecting a signed set. You see 20 signed cards of a guy, but not a single 19XX. You are lucky to have picked small set! |
Still looking for the final 2.
|
Yep...still needing Reiser and Kerr
|
Still looking for last 2 signed cards. Will pay top dollar.
|
Just picked up a signed 50 bowman Kerr...eh ....eh... place holder? :)
Good luck on the search! I have been keeping my eyes peeled, but it has been awfully tough to find signed cards |
Still looking for these final 2 cards. Will pay handsomely for them :)
|
Incredible!
Congrats,
I will certainly keep my eyes peeled. I love reading about Reiser and you are right......he should be out there! I myself am only 4 signed cards away from a complete 1961 Fleer Basketball set so I feel your anxiety!!! #7 Braun #24 Jordan (not Michael but just as rare!), he died in 1965! Ugh! #37 Rodgers #50 Dukes Keep an eye out for mine please. Maybe we can help each other! Thanks! Mike |

Well, its been 2 months...still needing last 2 cards. Let me know if you have either the signed Reiser or Kerr for sale.
Thanks, James |
Bump, final 2!!
|
Bump!
|
Any luck with these last two?
|
First I admire your efforts. I don't have a 1948, but got a couple of Reisers TTM. He was a willing signer when alive...surprising he has not turned up.
|
He passed in 81 and has an sp. You had to have a perfect storm to have the forethought to have one signed. He was pretty popular, and I'm also surprised two haven't turn up. One did, but when the seller found out it was tough to find, or one guy needed it, he put a ridiculous price on it.

Yep, still no luck. The ebay seller doubled his asking price almost once he found out that several wanted it. Ended up going for like $900+...something crazy. I'm just trying to be patient with these last two...I mean, I own all the ones that should be difficult to find...so you'd think these other two would pop up. |
Bump

Long time, no bump. Down to final 2. Thanks in advance for any help...will pay finders fee for the last 2.
Thanks, James |

weird that Kerr is hard considering he died in 2006. Unfortunately I don't have him in the upcoming auction. Have a Reiser, too little too late for me I guess!
