Quillen SGC 55 - Faint Back Ghost - Price Drop 1/14
 

I've been holding this one for a while; graded 55 which is very nice with a partial double name. But the big "deal" on this card is the (very faint) cylinder impression of Quillen (reversed) on the back of the card. I've attached scans of front and back, and then a second scan with some manipulation to make the image stand out more.

Every few days I will knock the price down roughly 10% by updating my last post and title. I will only bump this once a week. We may get to a point where I'm not willing to go any lower and the auction will end. PM me with inquiries.

this is not an everyday "wet transfer" as you state! if this cylindrical impression was darker, multi K card!:eek:

If you don't mind doing so in this thread, can you explain how to tell if a card has a cylinder impression, or just a WST?

Two ways...
1. most wet sheet transfers have "color" to them... reds, greens, blues.
2. wet sheet transfers generally lack "clarity"... they don't have the detail of an "original" image

While the ghost here is VERY faint, it is exceptionally clear.

I have an Irv Young the has the Piedmont back print showing on the front. WST or impression?

I would say WST based on experience, but that is tough to tell as the (faint) Piedmont back doesn't reveal a lot of detail that the ghost back images show. Nice card though.

It is darker in person. Also what is your thought on the black line on the top and the color shifts?
