Roger Maris 61st Home Run Ticket

I am being offered a pair of tickets from Maris's historic home run
Game, October 1, 1961. They come from someone I know who is clearing out an estate. Don't have a photo yet but I am told they have been put away ever since and are in nice condition. I need some help with value. Sellers on eBay are asking anywhere from $500 to $2000 but as they say asking ain't getting. Thanks in advance.

Tom,
The value of the Maris 61st HR ticket would depend on a number of factors:

Overall condition (you stated it was nice, but without seeing a scan...?)
Is it a cardboard ticket or a paper season ticket coupon?
Is it printed or stamped?
Is there writing or stains on the ticket or staple holes that may possibly detract?

If it is a printed date ticket with no obvious flaws the ticket would be a steal at $500 and likely worth $750- $1200, IMHO. I have seen tickets to this game sell for north of $750 for two decades or more.

I hope this helps. Happy New Year!

I have a membership to Worthpoint and the last one that I can find that sold on ebay went for $599

Inexplicably in 2013 a PSA graded stub from this game sold for $4,200

If I ever have a question about tickets, I'm going to Scott.

Very impressive knowledge on tickets, Scott.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Chris and Greg.
Regardless of condition, owning a ticket to Roger's historic 61st HR would be super cool.
