1912 / 1924 Washington Senators "mystery" postcards - questions
3 Attachment(s)
Many thanks to a board member for these. Two questions for anyone with more information about them:
(1) How many postcards are there in the 1912 "The Climbers" Senators series? There's a Walter Johnson with Eddie Ainsmith - if you own it, please post it! - but are there others? (2) The two at the bottom date to 1924 or 1925, probably 1924 (World Series year for Washington). Have you seen others from this series, or can you please post any if you own them? Thanks. |

1912 / 1924 Washington Senators "mystery" postcards - questions
Thanks for your response. The Milan was produced by National Photo Co. of Washington, D.C. There's no photo studio marking on the reverse of the other two.

Here you go. The Milan is first, and the other two follow with 1910-30 stamp boxes (AZO up and down arrows). The Milan also appears on p. 44 of the 1999 Menchine book. The Johnson / Ainsmith is here. The names on the other two -- Sate (should be Tate), Ruel, McNeely, and Leibold -- are on the original negative.
