1954 Topps storage
Hi everyone!
I am new here and apologize if answered elsewhere (i've tried to search!) but I would value your advice. I am starting a set build of 54 tops and considering saving most (commons) in sleeves inside a top loader. I have acquired about 80 raw Ex-Ex+ that I would rather have in something more protective than just a box. Our CS here is terrible so I need to order online and am having trouble finding the suggested sizes for both the sleeves and the loaders (and boxes). Any recommendations on size and/or dealers would be a huge help. Also, if any one has suggestions on a better method is also welcome. I live in a high rise so space is somewhat of a premium but am willing to sacrifice a little for this set. Not wanting to do a binder so individual storage is my preference . Also just want to mention just getting back into the hobby in my middle age after being a collector as a kid/teenager so please be gentle with my lack of knowledge/stupidity. I appreciate your thoughts and time and look forward to talking with you all in the future! Josh |

I've always felt the CardSaver 1's were good enough protection for most cards. Depending on the condition you are collecting I don't think you need a sleeve either. Just the CardSaver 1 by itself provides an attractive level of protection at minimal cost and almost no space constraints.
However if you are collecting high grade cards (Near Mint +) you may need to think about something more durable. You can get 100 of these for under $12 delivered on eBay right now. Or try a smaller group to see if they suit your needs. |
I second using Card Saver 1's. They provide pretty nice clarity to view your cards, & are durable, cheap, & don't have the typical size constraints that are found with some other holders for larger Topps issues (such as 1954T).

I use card saver 1s and then keep them in a folder to view using 4 pocket pages. Works great

For those that want even more protection on their card saver 1s...
Ultra pro makes resealable bags for one touches, they are an EXACT fit to card saver 1s. Here is an example, each of these cards are in CS 1 and then individually sealed in a bag... Attachment 215780 |
my preference is penny sleeve inside traditional top loader inside team set bag and sealed.

Take a moment and check out this website.
bcwsupplies.com They have various sizes of top loaders, penny sleeves and storage boxes. |
