A list of all players ever

I'm seeking a list of all players who ever played. If possible, it would help to have the season they debuted as well. Spreadsheet or text file would work.

Also, does anyone know of a way to get a list of all or most cards ever issued in either a spreadsheet or a text file?

You would have to click through each letter and make your own spreadsheet though.

I've searched high and low for an easily searchable and printable baseball database for a while now. Specifically, I need all players who appeared in a Major League game from 1950-1999. The closest I've come is Sean Lahman's baseball database which I have been told is such as we're looking for. The database requires Microsoft Access or another SQL client. I tried it about a year ago, downloaded the file and purchased an SQL client from the Apple store (was about $30 if I recall). In the end my computer illiteracy prevented me from getting it work although I didn't try exceptionally hard and honestly forgot it until your post. Supposedly this is what you are looking for: http://www.seanlahman.com/baseball-archive/statistics/

Other than this database I found nothing. I started threads here, at CU, at Blowout, and at FCB. I also emailed Elias, MLB, and ESPN Stats offering to pay or donate a fair amount if they had such a file I could have a copy of.... Nada.

Good luck and if you happen to find what you are looking for or get the Lahman database to work and discover it is what you need I'd like to know.

I decided to put one together. This is from Baseball Reference. I've a list of all players who ever played who have a card (as per BB Card Database)

It can be downloaded from my website at the following address...

http://www.jaytysver.com/bb-cards.html

It is towards the bottom of the page, just above Mets Videos.

Enjoy!

This is a spreadsheet I created which has three tabs.
First tab is by their name, second is by debut date, third is just hall of famers.

I don't know how you did that so fast, but lord Jay - you just made my day. Merry Christmas.

List of All Players & Their Kelloggs Cards

I've had lots of success using the Lahman database as well. He hasn't released the new 2015 version yet. I use it with Microsoft Access and another SQL program called SequelPro.

I've been able to add another portion (table) of the database to what Lahman provides. The new table links all of the Kellogg's cards produced to each player's stats on the Lahman database.

In the future I'd like to add more standard cards. Is anyone working on this? This would allow analysis of cards and stats together.
