nice Gold Borders to start off December! I've never seen a pick-up thread started on the 2nd of the month before...usually everyone is chomping at the bit and waiting to be the first to start the monthly thread!

I'm not sure how rare this really is, but none show on the PSA pop reports, and SGC doesn't list factory numbers (it is fac. 25). Real beater, but cheap! Winning combination as far as I'm concerned.

Still trying to pay for November

Nice cards so far!! I took the liberty of changing the title of our thread because it is driving (at least) me crazy. :) And I just added this E90-3 condition rarity to my new collection...

A couple HOFers (thanks, Mark!)
http://i.imgur.com/VIfbiwv.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6Hc43hl.jpg One of a few that I picked up at a local show last weekend. http://i.imgur.com/hbLpnpN.jpg And an eBay win that I liked because of the WST on the back. See that, at the bottom? http://i.imgur.com/uGq50H5.jpg Took me a second to realize it was "Brown, Chicago Nat'l". Which has cool potential. Got it in the mail, re-scanned it (and confirmed that the "M" is there, just hidden in the brown mess) and flipped the scan. Then realized that there was more than just the name that WST'd. That's a lot of red... http://i.imgur.com/cgRvEi2.jpg I don't own a copy of that Brown card, so I harvested one out of a BST thread. Seems pretty definitely the Mordecai Brown portrait. Only wrinkle was that the card looks like it's been removed from a scrapbook, based on the paper in the corner. When I magnified it, though, the rag was the same as regular t206 paper. So I took a thin-bladed knife and flipped up one edge of that stuck-down paper... and the other side is brilliant red. Not only were the sheets (or maybe just the cards?) stuck together, I've still got part of the card this one got stacked on top of. :) |

Here's two that I've picked up. I bought the N352 raw -- had it graded today when I went to the Philly Show. I'm very pleased with the card!

Its been 6 long hard months of nothing! It gave me plenty of time to fine tune my collecting interest.
Added this COBB bat off Goes well with my Red & Green. So all i need is the Cobb 'bat on' to complete my 4 Cobb run here. http://catalog.scpauctions.com/ItemI...33980a_lg.jpeg http://catalog.scpauctions.com/ItemI...33980b_lg.jpeg |

I have always wanted this card of Jack... A symbol of his 41 win season. It will be going in my Yankees binder .

I love the Happy Jack. I don't know why but I prefer the portraits over the action poses.

I was the underbidder on the Wagner/Cobb...was going to frame it, had I won. Yours would look great framed! Cheers, Steve |
Thanks Steve. I wasn't sure what to do with a "card" that size. Don't know why I never thought about framing but I might have to look into that.

Great cards everyone! Thanks Ed for great communication/dealing on the Cobby. Worked out well for both of us.
Also psyched to add a CJ Rickey. It is one of my only "A" grades, but looks great in hand regardless of grade. Been looking for a nice Feller for a while and jumped on this one. |
