Ne1 seen this before?
 

Picked this up this week with some other stuff. But uncertain about what it is, and it's value. Can someone please help? The only thing I can find out is that it's 1870-1890ish. Measures 3-5/16 x 5-5/16.

From the text on the back, it seems like your trade card for Thompson, Sons & Co. possibly dates from the first decade of the 1900's.

The first hint would be the phrase "after an auto ride"...the automobile industry in the US began in the 1890's, and became more widespread a decade later.

The second hint would be where the text states that Thompson's Celebrated Eye Water has been before the public for over a century...a quick Google search shows that Dr. Thompson introduced the remedy in 1795.

I've got no idea on it's value, but it sure does have a neat image!

Nice trade card. Funny at the bottom of yours it says Send a stamped addressed envelope for a full set of these cards. Would love to see what the whole set looked like. The one that you got the date from doesnt say that.
May have been put out by a drug store or pharmacy promoting the product as the wording on the card doesnt seem to be that of Dr Thompson if you read it right. Cool little piece...

Still curious about a value. Ne1 ever seen this card before? I can't find anything like it on the web.

While it is a cool card and is rare, its value is limited. I believe it would bring 20-30 dollars but maybe a bit more if someone is from the area. If I saw it at an antique show for 20.00 I would probably buy it. If it was priced higher I would really need to consider it. All of this is just my opinion, and others could differ on the valuation.

These are from a Series of Trade cards from the Philadelphia area. People often used them as Postcards because the set was easily obtainable.
There are 12 cards to the Set in which the Artist's Last name was "Twelvetrees".
Notice the part of ground RiGHT UnDer the Dog!
According to Mr. Keetz, Catherine was her first name...
Twelvetrees seems to be a popular name among turn of the century Artist's...
More likely they were all related!

Measurements are the same and She used the Same Children to Create All 12 Cards...
