Show a card with a tack hole in it

I got this recently and am surprised by how little the hole in the card bothers me. In fact, I find it kind of cool that a 105 years ago a kid liked this card enough that he wanted to put it on his wall so that he could look at it every day.

Let's see your cards that a kid decided to hang on his wall like artwork.

OK. I survived the first one. :D

Here's a Cobb Turkey Red that I once had in my set.
I didn't mind the tack hole as it had a half moon effect above Ty's head
and I thought if the hole wasn't there the card would have been graded higher & thus out of my budget

I got these two severely trimmed and tack-holed HOFers from completely different sources, and have always believed that they probably came from the same collection, 120 years ago. I like that.

T3s with tack holes are some of the best values around, IMO.

I have a similar card of Jimmy Ryan. The hole really does not detract much at all from the presentation.

Thanks Josh - I will give you a shout if I need to move it.

Edited to add: Thanks to everyone who has posted so far, this is fun. Let's keep 'em comin'.

I really like this thread and wondering where all of the examples hung and the stories behind them.
I wonder if Kevin C.'s OJ got the "Authentic" based just on the pin hole alone.

It should not have (the Ryan card I mentioned has a number grade), but who knows? The card appears to be otherwise perfectly fine (size and back).

This doesn't compare age wise with most of the cards that have been posted, but it appears to have taken 2 tacks to hold this one to the wall

Great thread. I'd love to know the stories behind all these cards and the kids that originally owned them. A guy I work with tacked a '90 something Sandberg to my bulletin board. When I first saw it I remember thinking, boy if that was a mid 60's card from when I was a kid, I'd be bummed out having a hole in a Sandberg card.

I would love to know the story behind the Magie I have. I imagine a boy with that card tacked to the wall or bulletin board in his bedroom. Was he a Phillies fan? Was Magee his favorite player? Did he know that his name was mispelled back in ~1909, but it was unknown in the hobby until the 70s?

Tired of waiting for a high-end so I bought this one

http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/204295...MANTLE_NEW.JPG

....the pin-hole and uneven hand-cut edges probably saved me a few dollars but this version hardly ever becomes available anymore . I reckon Mantle is hot and hoarded.

Tack hole, Schmack hole. How about a shotgun blast hole? Got this and several other similar E90-1 cards a couple years back from a net54'er (hi Paul) who picked them up in the 60's from hobby legend Goodie Goldfadden.

How about a set that was ISSUED with staple Holes!

2 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys:

Here is a set that the cards ONLY come with staple holes!

Dad's Cookies Cards were issued by stapling them onto a bag of cookies.

You would think TPG's would take this into consideration when grading them, but they will only ever be graded as Authentic or a "1"

Just picked up a few if anyone is interested in getting one for their team, player or type collections.

Anyone have the "coloured" album they reference on the reverse?
