I am not an expert but not so sure it's a type 1 with that bit of fuzziness I see....maybe it's just the way it was developed though?

I am totally not a photo expert but if it is that was a complete steal at that price.

Hopefully a photo guy will chime in. I agree if it's a type 1 it was a really good buy.

I was going to bid but the seller wasnt sure. He thought it might be a type 3 or printed in the 20's

The Brown Brothers Stamps are vintage to the 1910's. They were the oldest stock photo company in America. Its either a Type 1 or a Type 3, definitely vintage.

The photos appearance looks like a Type 1. The white box at the bottom kinda throws me off tho. Could have been tape to mount the negative to produce. Nonetheless, good pick-up.

I think it has a real good shot to be a type one or at the minimum a type two. I am no expert but I think the buyer made a good buy regardless.

The photo is not a TYPE I photo but a Type III. I know because I owned it at one time. I showed it to Yee at PSA and he confirmed it a Type III 20s example. He also sold it for me back then.

I own the original of the photo that has the correct International stamp (pre-International News) on the reverse and would easily go for 20k and up. The clarity of the two photos are not close in comparison.

If this was a type 1, it would have went for a lot more...believe me:)

The photo in question is a TYPE III and was made by Brown Brothera off of a duplicate/copy negative. It is a copy of the photo. It lacks the clarity and you can see the editorial markings as well as the Ruth name at the bottom embedded in the image as opposed to on the photo.

That said, not a bad buy at all(about what I sold it for5 years ago or a little less). I still think it is a 1-2k photo though imo. The days of finding 20k photos for 500 dollars on eBay are over.. At least ones of babe Ruth. :(

Differences are many.
